The Ultimate Flattery
Ian, getting dressed today, came out of his bedroom at dressing time and asked, "Daddy, can you wear the same thing as me? I'm gonna wear a striped red one," referring to a shirt.
I went into his room to look at the shirt he had in mind and said, "Oh -yes, I actually have a shirt like that."
(He knows I have a shirt like that, so that's probably why he picked it out.)
He held up some khakhi pants and said, "How about pants?"
"Yes, I think I have some pants like that, too."
Ian responded, with a little bit of jumping, "Yay! I'm gonna match Daddy!
(Now he's agitating for me to hurry up and get dressed, so we can match in real-time.)
