Update: My Name is Murray

As we all know, Daniel was Greg this morning, but then something changed: I gave the boys a bath, and refused to put Daniel back into his yellow "Greg" turtleneck afterwards, since it was dirty (as mentioned earlier, he rescued it from the laundry, in order to be Greg).

I was going to put normal "civilian" clothing on him, but he screamed and absolutely refused to wear anything but "Greg's" shirt until I proposed a compromise: I put him in his *red* turtleneck, and now he's Murray.

Accordingly, he started making his rounds through the house, playing his Wiggles guitar and periodically announcing that he was Murray.

One complication from all this is a clear trademark violation. Attorney Ian contested the new identity, pointing out that he, Ian, is actually Murray.

In the meantime, I put together a nearly-identical wardrobe for Ian, as I took him out of the bath, but Ian was having none of it; there's only room for one Murray in this house, and if Daniel is going to be him, Ian will not consider dressing in the same trademark black-pants-and-red-turtleneck.

So as of Bathtime, Daniel is Murray - or as he would prefer that I phrase it, Murray is Murray, and Ian is... simply Ian, wearing the conventional Saturday clothes of a North American five-year-old.
