On the Dig
Daniel and I were recently digging for treasure, precious metals and worms, in our front yard, "so the whole family would be proud of us," and Daniel had the following thoughts on the project:
"Daddy, do you think it would probably take a few weeks to dig all the way to treasure?"
"If we found treasure, the whole family would have it. We'd be richer than anybody. I'll bet Mommy would be pretty happy."
"Daddy, I think that fossils would probably come first before treasure."
"Well, we've dug pretty deep. Still, no signs of worms or treasure or fossils. Daddy, how big do you think the treasure chest would be?"
At one point we were digging "not too far, but it's better than no far."
At one point, we came across a small spring - probably from a ballpoint pen - and Daniel announced, "Daddy, look - a baby slinky."
