Pro-Censorship Putsch, Quelled For Now
We have somebody in our very home who is personally and passionately committed to undermining Daddy's documentation of the children's micro-history.
Last night, I was scribbling down something memorable that Daniel had said, for subsequent bloggage, when Ian said something like, "Don't you dare!" and proceeded to try to take the paper out of my hands. I showed him that the stirring quotation came from Daniel, rather than from him, but that made no difference. Ian felt a fraternal duty to try to spare Daniel the humiliation of having his sayings blogged to the world at large.
In fact, Ian quickly enlisted Daniel in the effort, and they chased me upstairs and came very close to pilfering my notes. Ian even tried to get Madeleine in on the act, by saying something like, "Madeleine, do you want Daddy to blog all the embarrassing things that you do?" But I rephrased the question: "Madeleine, do you like it when Daddy talks about the things that you do, on the Internet?"
Affirmative.
What Ian doesn't know is all the things that he says that I don't blog. In fact, I'll sometimes email people what I call "The UnBlog," for those too-delicate-for-HTTP-but-still-hilarious moments.
Ian knows I don't have a lot of scruples when it comes to blogging; he just doesn't realize that even I apply the occasional filter to the children's wonderful words and actions.
