Things To Mark Time

Daniel asked me how many days are in 100 hours.  I told him four days and four hours.  In this, Daniel saw a collective pattern that hadn't occurred to me:

Daniel:  So that's like eight things.

I was puzzled by this observation, until he explained that 4 hours and 4 days, all together, make up a total of 8 "things."
