Bus
Sometimes Ian astonishes me with his sensitivity, and the connections that he makes.
This morning, we were waiting for the bus at the end of the driveway, and I asked him - especially since he's learning Latin: "Did you know that 'bus' comes from a Latin word?" I went on to explain that "bus" comes from "omnibus," which means "for everybody," because the bus introduced a vehicle which can carry many people, or "everybody," rather than being a small car which can only carry a person or a small family.
Ian immediately came back with the following:
"But Daddy - what about Rosa Parks? That's not like it's something for everybody."
