The Evolution of a Word

Ian often talks, in maximally Darwinian terms, about how one Pokemon is an "evolshun" of another. The model of Pokemon genealogy closely resembles Object Oriented programming, where on object (or "class") is "child" to another, and has "children" of its own, which, in turn, ahve their own "children" - each with traits that go beyond the protomodel of the previous generation.

But I proposed that perhaps a better term than "evolshon" would be "evolution," and Ian reserved judgment, based on the consensus of his Pokemon colleagues:

"I guess you can say that... but me and all the kids at school say 'evolshun.'"
