...All Things Are Pure

Sometimes you get a confirmation that, in spite of the fallen-ness of our world and my own negligence in sheltering the young'uns, they're still quite innocent.

This evening, the boys were watching the movie "Superman," and at one point, the superhero was making his rebound, pursuing a fleeing Lex Luther and his entourage, which included Luther's hapless, guileless girlfriend, as always wearing a fur coat and clutching a pekingese-tye lapdog in her arms. As she accompanied her unworthy associates to escape the approaching avenger, Ian mentioned that he feels bad for the girl [or "grail", as he tends to say], and then added:

"...and I also feel bad for the dog."

A few minutes prior to that scene, Lex Luther had been lighting up a big cigar, typical of his ilk, and Daniel and Ian had the following very refreshing exchange to process the event:

Daniel asked: Is the bad guy smoking a pipe?"

And Ian answered: Yes.
