Reassurance

Daniel woke up today from his afternoon nap highly distraught, and he wouldn't come downstairs. Instead, he said, "I want Ian," and Ian obligingly went up to talk to him.

I couldn't help but spy, and Daniel was asking Ian whether people had gone anywhere without him (which they hadn't).

Ian offered the following very straightforward reassurance:

"Everyone's here, Daniel. Mommy's here. Madeleine's here. You're here, I'm here, and Daddy's here."
