The Toddler Assesses His Needs

Yesterday morning, as I was leaving for work, I said goodbye to Daniel, who was in the livingroom, while Mommy was down the hall. Checking in with him, I had the good sense to ask him a practical question:

Me: Daniel, I'm going to work now. Do you need anything before I go?

Daniel (slowly and distinctly): Yes. I need a popsicle.
