There is No "I, Daniel, By Myself" in "We"

Daniel, who is an artist, got hold of some sidewalk chalk last week and started adorning our driveway.  What was moving about his very painstaking work of graffiti was that he didn't write "Daniel"; he wrote "Daniel & Ian."  And, in fact, he wrote it in huge, quasi-three-dimensional letters - multiple colors, I think - and at the end of it all, it read something like:

Daniel &
Daniel & I
Daniel & Ian

This is because, on the first two tries, he hadn't allotted enough space from the point where he started writing, in the driveway, to include the entire moniker, and he kept hitting up against the lawn.

"TwoLads" is not just a description; Daniel sees himself clearly as a member of a two-lad unit, and his identity is bound up closely with Ian's.
