Ian and Daniel recently attended their first rock concert, when The Wiggles came to town. Appropriate for a rock concert, Daniel was accompanied out of the arena by Security - not because he tried to rush the stage or something similar, but because he had an absolute meltdown on the way out, when Amy declined to purchase some piece of Wiggles paraphernalia that he desired. The fans' wild obsession doesn't begin at adolescence...

Soon afterward, Ian asked me, "So are, The Wiggles real, Daddy?" [This reality-check is a new thing: Ian was also recently watching The Wizard of Oz, for the first time, and he asked me if it was real.]

I had to give him the very nuanced answer that they exist as a rock group, but their life isn't necessarily exactly as it appears on TV.
