Is the Sentry Truly a Musician?
Ian and I were arguing about whether a fugue completely devoid of musical notes could nevertheless count as music, by virtue of the rhythmic patterns that it employs. I was in the "pro-music" camp:
Me: It is music! It employs sound to create an effect.
Ian: But if I blow a horn and it wakes you up, I have also employed sound to create an effect...

I did (post a comment, long-winded one), as this is fascinating. But something ate it (something to do with having to comment as a Google account (below). One day soon will return for another try.
