Fawning Affection from Youth of the New Century

Tonight, I was on the couch on my laptop while Madeleine was a few feet away from me, playing Minecraft, in the Family Room (also known as "The Kennel," since most of the time there are four dogs lounging across the carpet in it),.  Apparently, Madeleine was tickled by something I said in reaction to a website I was looking at, because, without looking away from the X-Box, she said - entirely in earnest, if also with humor:

"Daddy, you're cute!  You're a cute little old man."
