Those Little Ones Move On So Quickly
Last weekend, we had a bittersweet development in the life of our firstborn: Ian, after much investigation and reporting, lost his last baby tooth.
The silver lining is that the event got all of the attention that it deserved: Ian took his iPhone to the bathroom sink, where work was underway, and documented the entire event, as he slowly massaged the tooth out of the gums. He had me watch the video as soon as the event had completed, in spite of the late hour; this is something his father would have done if we had had iPhones in 1979. After an attentive screening of the milestone, together we found a proper home to store the relic of our first baby's babyhood - such a wonderful time in all three of our lives - inside a specially-dedicated wallet, encased within his R2D2 piggy bank by his bed.
So the baby tooth is not completely lost, and the documentary is available for us all to enjoy any time we like.
