The Silliest Show On Earth
Last month, Ian was off to his friend's house for a birthday party, and he really rose to the occasion. Ian has maintained a supply of identical birthday cards which he bought at Dollar Tree because he liked the card so much - it shows a dog - I think about to drink from a toilet - and on the outside it say something like "We both worked hard on this card for you." and when you open it, the message continues, "I signed it and my dog licked the card."
So Ian gave his friend one of those cards, enlisting the services of our dogs to lick the envelope so that it would be accurate. And then he took the Game Stop gift card he was giving him as a present and put it in a big cardbaord box, warpped in a blanket with a few dumbells to make it heavier.
When we got tot he birthday party, I "helped" him carry the very heavy box into the house, visibly burdened by its tremendous weight. Several people offered to help, but we politely declined...
Ian was so excited about this whole project - getting dogs to lick a ridiculous card, and carrying a gift card into the house as if it were some incredibly heavy package - that as we were getting ready to leave for the party, he burst out, in absolute mirth:
"My entire life is the silliest play ever performed!"
