The evolving paradigm of "dating"

The kids are watching "Pirates of the Caribeean" tonight, and I told Ian, "This is the first date Mommy and I had after you were born - seeing this movie."

Ian, very naturally, asked, "Oh really?  So this is the first movie I ever saw?'

Of course, the lad probably has rather little reason to believe that Amy and I ever had a "date" that didn't involve anywhere between one and three children.
