Some Sisterly Perspective
This morning, after Ian finished saying something, Madeleine commented, "There's always something I don't understand when Ian talks."
When I was a lad, I had a similar feeling about my brother, who was also four years older than me. But I think in Ian's case, any number of adults might say the same thing. In fact, this morning, he was trying to explain "lateral area" to me, using an almond-milk-carton in the kitchen as an example. And I found myself, at the end of it, precisely in Madeleine's predicament.
