Shrugging Off The Bard
I run out of stories very easily, and then I get desperate, since the kids like to have me tell them stories. That's when I draw from larger sources. I've re-told Watergate a few times, with King Richard's men getting caught scaling Prince George's castle in the dead of night. And finally, I resorted to Shakespeare - specifically Romeo and Juliet - I actually had to look up the plot to get the story right (there's a tendency only remember the balcony and the corpses if you don't revisit the plot from time to time). But I re-told it, and Daniel had a fresh new perspective on this much-overrated bit of contrived story-line synthesis:
"Well, it's not a very good story! At least two main characters are dead, which almost never happens."
