Paging Doctor Dolittle

The other day, Daniel asked me, "Do you know anyone who speaks dog?"

This wouldn't be so remarkable if it were a bit of wit, but the wonderful thing is that he was completely sincere.  He wanted to know if there's anyone who can actually speak to dogs in their own language.

I have to admit, I've actually taught our dogs a few words of my own, and they understand very well how to reply to "tone" in our house, but I don't know anybody who can speak to them in their own panting native tongue.
