So Much To Talk About

Ian loves talking to me, and I love it too, but I especially love the fact that he's so enthusiastic about our dialogues.  Many of them concern Pokemon or Mine Craft, in which case one person does the bulk of the talking, but sometimes we get into politics, religion or world history, and under those circumstances, the primary role tends to shift.

Bedtime is literally a problem, because while I'm trying to put him to bed, or Daniel or Madeleine or some combination of them, he'll stop me and start probing the more specific details of one of his main topics, and I have a really hard time getting away, partly because I never hear the verbal "period" - since there's never a definitive end of a thought - lot's of "...but" and "...so," linking one paradigm to the next.

But last night, his appreciation of our ongoing dialogue was especially touching.  As I went downstairs to get him some water - or something like that - Ian mentioned how he would be spending this interim in my absence:

"I'll be thinking about a topic of conversation for us."
