"Long Live That Lady!"
Yesterday in the car, on the way to Boston, Daniel was discussing currency with me, and he expressed a strong preference for coinage over printed bills, implying that paper money seemed to be of far less value (probably because it's made from little pieces of tree instead of a hunk of metal). To show him that he wasn't alone in his preference, I mentioned that the Canadians stopped using paper one-dollar bills many years ago, in favor of the beloved "loonie" coin bearing the image of the Canadian loon. But Daniel associated Canadian currency with a human being rather than a bird, although he wasn't quite sure of her identity:
"Don't they have that lady on them? I forget her name."
