Cuttin' up With Sis'

About a week ago, Ian and Madeleine got some time together at home - I think Daniel and I had been out and Amy was in another room, so the two of them had their own "quality time" just to play.  When I caught up with them, Ian announced:

"Madeleine and I have been mocking each other like we were brothers and sisters of the same age."

It might sound like an odd assertion, but I think I immediately grasped what he was saying: they were joshin' around together, yuckin' it up, just like two buddies, contemporaries, comrades unfettered by the limits of ten-year-old-ness side by side with five-year-old-ness.  And still, the way that he phrased it is beautiful in its own right.
