Child Semi-Prodigy

Tonight, Daniel issued one of his standard first-or-second-grade-arithmetic quiz to Madeleine.  I suppose he must thing she's quite precocious.  Being the gracious mentor that he is, with his advanced age and experience, he graded on a bell curve:

"When you're five, you don't know things as good as when you're six or seven, so you're kind of smart for a five-year-old."
