Probing Technological History of Yore

Ian and Daniel are interested in a Mine Craft-themed spoof of some currently popular song that mentions a pay phone.  Inevitably, the Children of the 21st Century had the following conversation about this obscure, antiquated reference:

Daniel:  Ian, what's a pay phone?

Ian:  A pay phone is like a little phone and you go over and pay to use it for like a minute or something.
