Pre-Season Overview

Yesterday, in the car, we were talking about school plans for the children.  If everything progresses per the default educational line-up for our town, then after Madeleine attends Kindergarten at the school designated as the town's all-purpose Kindergarten (with no other grades in the school), then she will start first grade at the boys' elementary school, and stay there through fifth grade.

Daniel summarized this projected line-up to her as follows:  "Madeleine, you're gonna be in our school for five seasons."

As odd as this "five-season" time-frame might sound to the average person, it all makes sense in context, when you remember that Daniel has already completed two seasons of soccer and two seasons of baseball.  The "season" is probably just a complete  unit of scheduled, institutional activity.
