Narration
Ian likes to tell me about television programs he has seen.
I was the same way at his age, and younger. I felt that my old great-aunt Mae-Mae should be given blow-by-blow updates on the progress of Bobby Brady's shenanigans on my very favorite program, even though she was probably born in the 19th century. If a frog ended up in Greg's pizza on the night of his big date, I knew one old lady in the kitchen who absolutely needed to hear about it during the next commercial.
What is moving about Ian, is that he wants to tell me details from his program even if I witnessed it myself, in his very presence, as the show was broadcast. One time, there was some funny line from one of his shows, which he started to tell me, then stopped himself, because he realized that I had been there for the great moment, but then he resumed the recitation, saying something like "I'm gonna tell you anyway."
Tonight, however, while he and I were out-and-about, after his Russian Math class, he asked an especially touching question: "Do you mind if I tell you the entire story?"
Of course, I was happy to oblige...
