The Spontaneous-Stick-Hurling Gene, Across Generations
I was in the back yard this evening with Daniel, waiting for him to start playing a game of combat, and holding a long wooden stick, a bit like a baton, that he had selected as his weapon. I got a sudden inspiration, wanting to see how far into the air I could throw the stick, but somehow the stick flew more back than up, toward the house, and almost hit one of the windows. I wasn't pleased about that, and Daniel was quite curious. I explained to him my behavior and thought-pattern, leading up to the stick-throwing, and he said something nobody could dispute:
"That's something that I would do."
