I hadn't realized that anyone could be less cool than Daddy...

Now that our weather is starting to act like Spring might eventually come this year, and we had a relatively warm day yesterday, three-out-of-three of our children were outside without jackets.  I came out with three jackets - one orange, one blue and one pink, to suit their personalities - and insisted that they put them on, which they attempted to protest.  But Alec was in the driveway playing basketball with Daniel, and he was wearing a real jacket - even heavier than what I brought out for our kids - and his baby brother and father were across the street wearing similarly serious jackets, so I pointed out that the cool people are wearing jackets, and surely we want to be more like them.

At this point, Ian asserted his identity:

"Daddy, do you realize that i don't like - and I quote - 'cool'?"
