Fun, And Those Who Despise It

Daniel accused me and Mommy of being against fun.  Even without asking what he meant, the proposition seemed very promising.  But all the more so, once fun was properly defined.

I already forget one of the great things in life turned out to be - probably television - but the other three were the following:

1.  Video games

3. Candy

4.  Gum

I ran the list by Ian, to see if he concurred. He bitterly disagreed about gum:

"To me, it's torture."

I thought I knew what he meant, and it turned out that he has exactly the same problems with gum that I do:  you chew it,  but you can't swallow it, because it's not actually food.

I pointed out the other problem with this source of fun:  it loses it's flavor.

Ian agreed even more passionately about that - something along the lines of: "When it loses its flavor, it's so gross you could practically throw up."

It's nice to know that the fun-hating gene made it through to at least one hapless member of the Next Generation.
