In A Word...
The children are rather fond of Rebecca Black's song, "It's Friday," but not without qualifications. Rebecca Black seems to be an ordinary American girl who wrote her own song and put a video of it on the Internet and gained a real celebrity-caliber of attention from it, and it's not a bad song - very upbeat, a celebration of the arrival of the weekend. But unfortunately, the bridge of the song outlines that fact that yesterday was Thursday, Thursday and today if Friday, Friday and tomorrow is Saturday, Saturday, and then comes Sunday, Sunday. I'm exaggerating about the cadence of it, but perhaps not by much.
As we were watching the video on line, Ian provided a painfully succinct critique of the song's bridge:
"That was poorly written."
