Cousin James's Birthday
Yesterday was Cousin James's birthday, and we had the good fortune to be at his house on that day, even though he lives almost 200 miles away. Ian and Daniel both made cards for him. Ian's card was a cut-out of a birthday cake, candles and all - quite large, and well done, and it had on it a poem that Ian had written for his cousin:
Oreo, chocolate, tofu, eww
May the best one come toy ou,
June, July, September, May
Whatever your birthday, come what may,
Cupcakes, lollipops, cakes and sweets,
These are just some of your birthday treats!
From Ian
To James
[And then a footnotes, at the bottom of the card, no doubt tied to some superscript above:]
Key: can be replaced with chocolate cake
Love,
Ian
Daniel made a card for James that had a pair of underwear on one side, and a picture of a clown wearing underwear - but no trousers - on the other. Daniel apparently found this impropriety to be amusing, as did many others.
