Bring On the Valentines!

Both boys gave me very sweet Valentines.  In both cases, they were small greeting cards, pink on the outside, covered with hearts.  One envelope - I'm not sure whose -  was the one with a cupcake stamp on the back, cancelled out with those wavy stripes we associate with the U.S. Postal Service, and the other simply said "Daniel" on it.  The children sometimes like to remind me off my name, or my "other name," as I think Madeleine describes it.  Ian had heart and cupcake stickers on the outside of his, and drew hearts on both sides of the inside of the card, and wrote inside:

"Love you, dad!

Daniel drew a powerful illustration, on the left side of the card, on the inside, consisting of concentric hearts within concentric frames.  On the right side, inside, he wrote:

Happy
Valentines
day
daddy
to daddy
frum Daniel

These cards managed to capture Valentine's Day at its best, while also enriching it with their own unique imprint.
