The Gerbil Whisperer

Ian was holding Blackout, his gerbil, this afternoon, when suddenly he said, "Uh-oh - he's shaking," and started heading back toward his room, where the gerbil cage lives.

I asked, "What are you doing?'

"Putting him back to in his cage?"

Why?

That's how he signals that he wants to go back to his cage, Ian explained.  He shakes.

I was puzzled, but Ian went on:  that means he has to go to the bathroom.
