Scientific Precision
Ian is painting a nativity set as a Christmas present, and he asked me to help him with some aspect of it. When I got to the dining room table/studio and asked him what he needed, he couldn't think of anything. But then he had a thought:
"Dad, could you open the primary colors, actually?"
I looked at his paint set and there were actually six paints - blue, red, yellow, orange, etc. So I wasn't sure that these were the paints he had in mind, and I asked him, and he clarified: he only needed the red, blue and yellow to be opened, which is why he categorized the paints to be opened as "primary colors." And there was nothing pretentious about it; he was just summarizing the colors that he needed in the most succinct terms available.
