Starting the Morning With Top Priorities
Yesterday, all three children stayed home sick - Daniel in a more preventative mode, with a small cough, Ian and Madeleine because they each had an outrageously bad cough. I had this silly idea that I might actually get to work earlier because there were no children to put on the bus or drive to preschool, but of course this was a ridiculous assumption. Although Daniel and Madeleine were still asleep when I left the house this morning, Ian was literally following me around, lecturing me on Pokemon - I think - and some angst regarding cashing in on some special promotional number that came with the newly acquired Cinderella video. He has been educating me for a few days about the benefits of the triple-mode in which this video arrived - DVD, BlueRay and Digital Copy all in a single package. He has been agitating to copy the digital version to my home computer, which was not a promising prospect, since I have Ubuntu and Disney seems to presume that the world runs on Windows. [Much of the Third World, especially in Africa, can't afford to run on Windows, which is why, when I need to upgrade or fix something on my Ubuntu system - Ubuntu itself being an African name for a Linux release from a South African country- most of the technical help I can find from the Ubuntu Community is on African blog sites.
But I digress. Ian got me to set him up with my laptop this morning before I left the house, and was extremely concerned about redeeming some "Disney Points" or something like that, on some Disney website, by typing in some code that came with the video. In the morning, I'm in perpetual motion, walking around from room to room, gathering things, finalizing little morning tasks, and I can't afford to stand still, but Ian tends to stand in one place and talk about Disney and Pokemon and websites with the assumption that I'll stop long enough to confer on these important topics. Of course, I was later to work than usual...
But sometimes the forensic evidence is the best. I don't know whether this is Amy's work or Ian's, but when I brought my laptop out of sleep mode this evening, I saw a browser tab set to Ask.com, with the following burning question typed into the "ask" text-field:
can i enter in my disney movie reward code if i am not-and will not be a member of disney movie rewards
I hope we can get to the bottom of this.
