...if Mommy stayed home today, and at the end of the day, you ask, as Ian did, "How come Darcie  wasn't here for me today?"

I told Amy about this - apparently she didn't hear the original query, bellowed down the stairs in her direction - and it somehow made her sad.  She said Ian doesn't love her, but I insisted that he does, and that, in fact, Amy is Ian's Darcie when Darcie can't be here.
