Virtue

In the car, a few days ago, Madeleine was telling me, in front of Daniel, that sometimes Daniel is mean to her and sometimes he's nice to her.  This is a recurrent assessment from her.  And as I always do, I told her that I think that we all tend to be nice some of the time and mean at other times.

Daniel volunteered something that moved me deeply:  "Well, I think you're nice all the time, even though you give really long timeouts and you yell."  I had not expected this evaluation.

But finally, Daniel seemed to conclude that only God is nice all the time - and maybe the Saints, too.
