Amateur Sinologist
The other day, I was looking at a website that had an article entitled, "China's Rise, America's Fall." Ian read the title out loud, and attempted to make sense of it.
Finally, he had an angle on this perceived development:
"Oh yeah, I know, because in China the babies already know 1, 2 and 3."
Apparently someone had told him that in China, children know how to count at a very early age - something approaching infancy. And he applied this insight into a socioeconomic critique offered by The American Conservative...
