Twin Beds - No! Togetherness - Yes!

Amy was contemplating getting twin beds for the boys. Technically, they have "separate" beds already, since they have bunk beds, but you almost never see either of them sleeping up top.

I saw no point in replacing a perfectly good - if "falling apart" - set of bunk beds with static, freestanding, impersonal twin beds. One of my favorite things in the day is to get up in the morning and see the two lads sweetly sleeping side by side. They sometimes snuggle in their sleep. It makes me sad to leave them there when I get up to do the morning routine.

But the lady who believes in throwing away a working coffee maker just because she saw a "better" one on sale, has no such sensibilities. So she ran the idea by the boys this evening, and each one voted a resounding "No" on the referendum.

I asked them later on, "So you boys don't want separate beds, huh?" and Ian confirmed in his gloriously nuanced manner:

"Yeah - I don't really want to be separated from Daniel even though he does make me lose some sleep."
