Morning Sunshine

Daniel came scampering down the stairs this morning, in his green-and-black-and-white Buzz Lightyear pajamas, very happy to see me. He was the first one up, since today is an administrative day in our school system so both boys have the day off. It is probably because of, rather than in spite of, having a de facto holiday that he got up before 8:00 this morning... He found me in my natural habitat, with laptop in front of me on the dining room table, next to a fat cup of dark roast coffee, and he came running over to give me a hug, and announced:

"I went into your office to see if your card was still there and Mommy's car was still there, and it was, and I'm not surprised, because I saw Mommy still asleep, and Madeleine still asleep."
