Failure to Appreciate Daniel

Tonight, after lights-out, I was very frustrated with the boys' determination not to go to sleep. Finally, I yelled at them to lie down, and Daniel, on the verge of tears - real or conjured - made me recognize another gaping flaw in my personality:

"I'm lying down and nobody appreciates me!"
