Thoughts for the Day

Today Daniel speculated that "every person's gotta be in love with someone."

The best thing about this wisdom is that Daniel, himself, is officially smitten.

Another gem of the day was when Daniel mentioned that he already misses people from his past. Daniel is six, and in Kindergarten. But yes, Daniel's friends from preschool have not all moved on to his kindergarten, even though they're basically next door to each other, and Daniel also misses people who have moved to other classes.

And he misses them, just the way we oldsters miss people from that age through to our own. This new flame in his life is but the second; a girl named Lexi was all the rage for him last year, and the Guest of Honor at his birthday party. He talked about her all the time, and after the school year ended, he was clearly mourning her absence. There's something especially moving about getting this perspective from such a strapping young lad - to know that even at his tender age, some people have moved on, and he misses them.
