Kiss and Tell

Today, as we were playing in the yard, Daniel told me that he kissed a girl in his class, Kristin. Of course, I asked him why. He told me she asked him the same question, laughing, in response to his gesture.

Later the same afternoon, he told me

"I know a girl in my class who is not so beautiful... and she's always a little not-so-beautiful... [however] Kristin is the most beautiful one in my class."

So I learned a few things about Daniel:

1. He likes girls.

2. He likes beautiful girls.

3. He believes that when you love, you should act accordingly.

4. Young Daniel has extreme self-confidence, of the "strong, silent" type.

5. Beautiful girls react with levity, rather than horror, when he kisses them in school.

There's nothing politically correct about any of this, but somehow it still makes me very happy. At an earlier point in my life, I might have been very interested in learning a few things from such a confident young buck.
