Ian at Two, In His Own Words

Tonight, Ian mentioned to me that he remembers the time when "it was just you, me and Mommy." This astonished me, since Ian was just over two years old when Daniel was born. I was very eager for more details, and Ian provided a vignette pretty-much as follows:

"We were about to go to bed, and you said, 'Let's go say goodnight to the new baby!' so we went over and I said Goodnight to Daniel - through Mommy's belly!"

Ian also remembered that this was in the old house. The boys and I miss the old house. Amy says they miss it, to a large extent, because they have memories of playing trains with me in the basement in the evenings; there was a huge train table there that took up most of the main room in the (finished) basement.

Reflecting on this whole story, Ian said:

"I was two years old - Wow! I felt like I was as old as five!"
