Helping Daddy See Reason
At bed-time tonight, Ian took the Bible from Daniel's dresser and sat with on the bed with it it neatly set on his lap, clearly waiting for me to read to him. He was even admiring it out loud, asking me if this particular edition was very old - no doubt impressed by the timeless quality of its cover and font.
It was late, and I said we needed to go to bed. But Ian managed to frame the situation in a particularly awkward way, for me:
"Why do we have to not be able to read something from the Bible?"
We read half a chapter from the Gospel of Saint John.
