Annoying Things
Amy presented me with a quandary on Saturday morning: she wanted a couple dozen eggs, and she wanted them pretty quickly, but she also wanted us to be good New England neighborly-neighbors, and go buy eggs from a nearby farm. But the problem is that there's no formal process for retailing among most of the nearby farms. So you kind-of have to wing it....
So I went to one farm, and asked a pleasant young man walking his dog whether they sold eggs. He led me into the main garage/barn, where a similarly pleasant, middle-aged lady sweetly apologized that they had run out for now - apparently eggs tend to "arrive" in afternoon, and we were welcome to come back then.
Well, there were two farms left to check for eggs - again, a new task for me, among this present tier of very-nearby farms. But along the way, Daniel, who had been sent by Amy to be part of the field trip, asked me the following question:
I guess that's where we differ.
