Daniel: Dadddy, I think I put my mouth on something that tasts a little like ginger.

Me (a bit pre-horrified): What was it?

Daniel: It was from a tree, I think.

[Daniel then proceeded to show me a small tuft of pine needles. I didn't take the opportunity to correct him - that they actually taste more like gin than ginger...]
