Daddy Has Me
There's a Russian proverb: Leetle children, leetle problems; beeg children, beeg problems.
I am a beeg child; Daniel is a leetle child. He tries to be warped, but I'm way past him. No contest, even.
Tonight, to protest this and that, Daniel made a makeshift sticker for me, on which he wrote, "DA DI HAS ME." The "e" was backwards; other words were broken up into pieces, but I knew what he meant, because I know Daniel: "Daddy Hates Me!"
But I'm warped, as I mentioned, so I took the "sticker" and gushed: "OHHHH! Daddy Has me! [This was, after all, what he had written, more or less...] I gushed further about how Daddy has Daniel and Daniel has Daddy, because we love each other so much. I even sang a few bars of Sonny and Cher's inspirational work, "I've Got You, Babe."
As often happens when a child makes a craft for their parent, I was very happy, and outspokenly grateful for Daniel's generosity and intiative.
