Your Kind of Place - Not!

The boys have a strong antagonism for McDonald's, directly influenced by their multiple viewings of the documentary "Supersize Me," which focuses on the supposed health hazards of an entirely-fast-food diet. In the film, the film-maker himself endeavours to eat only McDonald's food for an entire month. As a results of his selection of McDonalds, it is possible for a six-year-old or eight-year-old to come away with the impression that his criticism was intended only for McDonald's, and not for fast food at large, in spite of ample negative coverage of other vendors, within the sidelines, in this same film. One side-effect of this assumption is that the boys - especially Daniel - seem to have a positive bias in favor of Burger King and Wendy's, as the presumptive antitheses to evil McDonalds. For the record, I believe it was Amy that brought this particularly gripping unit of entertainment into our home.

Ian, a few weeks ago, came up with his own spoof on a McDonald's jingle - I think it was simply by inserting the word "not" into the single sentence which comprised the lyrics. Daniel sometimes says good things about the "good" fast-food vendors listed above.

But Daniel's most recent criticism of McDonalds was particularly stirring:

"Well, I can assure you that the buns at McDonalds are very, very, very, very yucky."
